  • By Train: The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi (approx. 270 km from Srinagar). From there, you can continue by road.
  • Best Time to Visit:

Arriving in Srinagar marks the start of your Kashmir vacation. Take a relaxing shikara ride on Dal Lake while admiring lotus gardens and floating marketplaces after checking into a traditional houseboat or hotel. With the Zabarwan Mountains in the background, you may take a relaxing walk along Boulevard Road in the evening. Spend the night in Srinagar.

Experience the timeless Persian-style beauty of Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, three Mughal gardens. Take in the expansive city views by visiting Shankaracharya Temple. The evening is free to browse for pashmina shawls, saffron, and Kashmiri handicrafts. In Srinagar, spend the night.

Travel to Pahalgam, which is well-known for its riverbank scenery and pine trees. See the historic Awantipura ruins and Pampore's saffron fields on route. Take an easy walk along the Lidder River at Pahalgam, or choose to take a pony ride to Chandanwari (the Amarnath Yatra base camp), Aru Valley, and Betaab Valley. Spend the night at Pahalgam.

On day 4 of your Kashmir trip Visit Gulmarg, one of the top ski resorts in India. For stunning views of the snow, ride the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, to Khilanmarg and Apharwat Peak.
